Call for Soprano and Alto staff singers

St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wayzata, MN is currently seeking 1 alto and a 1 soprano staff singer.
These singers will serve to support our 25-30 voice parish choir at the 10:30 AM Mass. They will also join our bass and tenor singers to provide music as a vocal quartet for the 8:30 AM Mass. Rehearsals are held most Wednesdays throughout the pastoral year (Labor Day to Corpus Christi) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
The fee would be $75 a call.
The start date would be Sunday, April 27th (2nd Sunday of Easter). There may be an opportunity for the soprano to join us for liturgies of the upcoming Triduum if they are available.
Scheduling is flexible to accommodate working musicians, but staff singers are asked to prioritize especially the liturgies during the Christmas Season and the Easter Triduum.
To apply, please email me at jfields@st-barts.org. A resume and a vocal recording, though not required, would be helpful in your initial message to me! Don’t hesitate to send any questions my way.
Thank you!

Musicians for Wedding Ceremony: Saturday May 17, 2025

I would like to hire a string duo, trio, or quartet for my wedding ceremony on May 17, 2025 at Woodland Glasshaus in Chaska on the Bavaria Downs property from 4:30-5:30pm. It is fully indoors! Because I am not set on the size of the ensemble, the pay can be discussed via email. Parking is free onsite.

As for the type of music, I am flexible though we'd probably want to stick to classics or pop covers. I'd be happy to pay for sheet music (or anything like that) if there are pieces we discuss that you would be willing to learn/play. My future husband and I met as undergrads at UMN and would love to involve UMN students!

Musicians for Wedding Ceremony: Saturday May 23, 2026

I would like to hire a string duo, trio, quartet, or solo cellist for my wedding ceremony on May 23, 2026 at the Landmark Center in St Paul from ~4:30-6:00pm. It is fully indoors. Because I am not set on the size of the ensemble, the pay can be discussed via email. The Landmark Center only has street or garage parking, which I would pay for. As for the type of music, I am open to whatever your preference/speciality is, I'm positive it will be lovely. I'd be happy to pay for sheet music (or anything like that) if there are pieces we discuss that you would be willing to learn/play. I played the cello growing up and now work for the UMN, it would bring me so much joy to hire UMN undergrad or grad musicians looking for paid opportunities like this.
